The Internet...Can't live with it, Can't live without it

Having so much trouble connecting to the internet for the past week...called tech support.
Been on tech support for the three days and nights, and still no good internet connection.
It seems that I can get on sometimes, but then I loose the connection.

It doesn't make any sense intuitively...nothing has changed but the lack of connection...

Feeling the Bern -- Bernie for President--For ALL of US

I am a proud Vermonter.  Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is my candidate for President.

Though I am a transplant from another state, I chose to live here in the 70s and have never regretted it.  The air, the water, the weather, are all big attractions and spell peace, quiet and purity.
I'm not saying it's a perfect place, but even our politicians have made me proud again and again.  Recently it has been our legislators, Pat Leahy, Bernie Sanders, and Pete Welch.

It is not hard to see why there is so much growing support for Bernie Sanders.  When people hear his message and see how naturally he responds to interviewers, his honesty is apparent.  In comparison, the other candidates sound calculating, phony, and full of artifice.  His approach is reasoned.  He does not engage in negative personal comments although Secretary Clinton is trying to make it seem that facts are personal barbs.  Bernie's comments are not negative and certainly not false.

I'm female, but as to the issue of having the first 'female' President?  It's not as important to me as the other issues facing us.  I can easily give that up in favor of the significant changes that a Bernie Sanders Presidency will effect with respect to income inequality, financial reform of the banking industry and universal health care.

I will do what I can to help see that Bernie Sanders is the next President of the US!

IT'S SNOWING, REALLY SNOWING

It's time to get out all the serious winter stuff.
Oh, yah, the power and internet are intermittent friends.
Better save & publish before it all goes...south

Burlington Trumped? Oh no!

Proud to be a Vermonter after hearing that Vermonters were able to show Mr Trump that although his campaign (dangerously) over-booked  the venue by thousands, and only let in those that would say they were Trump supporters, disruption was peacefully achieved!

Thursday wondering...

right now I'm wondering about self-sufficiency...

Is it possible in today's world to be self-sufficient?

Can a person provide all that is necessary to have a good life by dint of work?  In the not too distant past, most folks lived on family farms and (I think) produced or traded for whatever they needed.  I'm not sure it can be done today.

What do you think?

Wednesday the 6th

It's another very cold morning.  I woke and saw the crescent moon dangling a star to the southeast.  It is less than 3 degrees and the since the morning chores are done,  it's time for hot coffee!

*Work-in-Progress Only tuesday 1/5

It's only tuesday, still time to find those instructional blog tutorials.
It would help me understand why blog posts also appear in comments.

Back to the weather here.  It was zero this AM.  It is chilly.

Cold Spring

                                                          Cold Spring

We spent early Spring planting seeds.

They grew.

FORCED INTO THE VEGGIE-HOOD

Owing technology/modern medicine much thanks, I find myself forced into VEGGIE HOOD.

I am scandalized that I find it difficult to control the desires of the taste buds in my mouth, ever aching for fats and meats and all manner of stuff on the do-not-eat list.

The Hawk is Upon Us - January 4th '16

For the first time this season, this morning's temperature is in the single digits.

THE HAWK IS UPON US

I heard that phrase when I came to see if an urban apartment dweller could live in countrified Vermont in the '70s.  I'm not absolutely sure who said it first, but my good friend and neighbor, Lothar, gets the credit.

What this phrase is meant to describe is the biting cold that starts with a grab at the neck and shoulders and rides down the spine, chilling the whole body.

The image is of the hawk hunting the rabbit.

Sometimes the rabbit gets away.  The weatherman is forecasting a warm up again in a day or two.

Warm Halloween

It was a warm and peacefully uneventful day.

The First of November 2015

It is a lovely Fall morning.  Sir Loin, our bull calf almost jumped out of his domicile when he saw me coming with his pail full of milk.

Here's to a great new year--2016!

Sunday, January 3rd is a cloudy day of mixed precipitation gently falling to the ground.  It has been generally warmer according to weather authorities.

The forecast is for falling temperatures bringing in a cold snap with temperatures in the single digits.

The promise is that it will warm up in a few days.

Odd weather.
